First 40 Special Edition Olympic BMW's Arrive

If the 2012 Summer Olympics in London are anywhere near as exciting as the 2008 Summer Olympics were, then we're in for quite a treat in just a few short months.  Of course, the organizers of the games are in for quite a treat long before that, as BMW has put together some special edition 1 and 3 Series vehicles specifically for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).  Before it's all said and done, 4,000 of the special edition BMWs will be produced and shipped out.  That, ladies and gentlemen, is a beneficent Olympic sponsor right there.

The first 40 are already on their way, and having seen pictures of the special cars, we here at Center BMW have to admit that we are, to put it bluntly, rather envious.  The images show two BMW vehicles-one silver, one white-decorated in modern-looking mosaic decals of orange and purple.  They look almost like the sort of vehicle a superhero would drive when on the way to solving a crime, and 4,000 lucky Olympic organizers are going to end up with them.

It's just one of many promotions BMW has put into place in preparation for these Olympic games.  There have also already been commercials and a video series profiling athletes expected to participate in the games this summer, but the free cars for LOCOG have been perhaps the coolest BMW-related Olympic advertisement.  Santa Monica BMW dealers like ourselves only wish that we were included on the list to receive our special edition 3 Series vehicles, too.
